     I love to visit new places and learn about different cultures and lifestyles. When I was growing up in Chicago, I traveled with my family around the United States and have visited every US state except Alaska! When I went to Mexico for the first time, I realized that teaching ESL was a perfect career for me. So, I earned an undergraduate degree in English and a graduate degree in teaching ESL. Over the years I have had a great time teaching in Costa Rica, Mexico, in private language programs and at various community colleges in LA, Oxnard and Santa Barbara. I am especially interested in curriculum and materials development and in teaching practices. I love my students, and I feel so fortunate to help them grow! Besides teaching, I enjoy being outdoors walking, hiking, swimming and biking. I also love to travel, read and spend time with friends and family. I am married, and I am the proud mother of two young adult sons.
