The SBCC Hiking Club was started by international students of the English as a Second Language and is open to all students.  We typically do our hikes on Friday or Saturday mornings between 9 AM and 2 PM.  Sometimes our hikes are 1-2 hours long.  Other times, longer.  Most of our hikes are in the Santa Barbara back country, in the Los Padres National Forest (Santa Ynez River Recreation area, Gaviota Peak, Camino Cielo area, Figueroa Mountain area), although sometimes we also hike along the Santa Barbara front country, too (Rattlesnake Canyon trail, Jesusita trail, La Cumbre Peak trail, Cold Springs trail, Hot Springs Trail, Romero Canyon trail).

There are no fees to join us.  If you would like your name added to our emailing list announcing new hikes, please send us an email to

with the following information:

1. Your first and last name

2. Student ID number

3. Email address

4. Phone number

We will be sending everyone on the list an email every time we go on a hike and you decide whether you'd like to join us for that hike.

We hope to see you on the trail with us soon!
