Community and Special Events
If you are looking for the right place to hold your event, meeting or training, SBCC has a variety of classrooms, lecture halls and outdoor venues that may suit your business or community service needs. Non-profit organizations which are looking for an athletic venue for fundraising or outreach programs find the facilities useful and accessible. The Sports Pavilion Gymnasium and La Playa Stadum have access to Leadbetter Beach and Shoreline Park. Parking lots may also be rented to avoid the cost of individual pay parking required for guests. The expansive Great Meadow is available for car shows and large gatherings. Classrooms seating 30 to 50 persons and lecture halls seating up to 140 are also available for various purposes.
Steps to begin the process of SBCC Facility/Venue use:
- Step one: Contact our office by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org for availability of location and date, as well as current Facility Use fees. You may then formally submit your request by submitting the Facility Use Form. Please submit at least two (2) weeks in advance of the event date requested. Indicate any table/chair or specific set-up needs on the form.
- Step two: When your event has been approved and confirmed, you will be notified via email. We require that non-college members provide insurance coverage in the amount of $1 million also naming Santa Barbara Community College District as additionally insured. Insurance may be obtained through your company's insurance carrier or you may use our ASCIP TULIP Insurance Process to purchase insurance.
- Step three: Submit payment with invoice to secure your location.
- Step four: Enjoy your event here at SBCC!
*NOTE: SBCC departments reserving rooms for programs during the academic calendar (during class hours) should contact the Scheduling Office.
