Priority Review Deadline During registration:
The Priority Review Deadline is for Prerequisite Challenges received no later than 10 working days prior to the start of classes. The student is notified and temporarily* cleared to register in their desired class(s) and is allowed to remain enrolled subject to approval of the challenge.
- The student is allowed to remain enrolled subject to approval of the challenge
- Challenges are reviewed in the order they are received and students are notified via their SBCC pipeline email account
- Final decisions are made within10 working days
- If a challenge is denied and the student is enrolled in the course, the student is dropped and notified by Pipeline e-mail
SUMMER: Priority Review Deadline applies only to Fall and Spring semesters, there
is NO TEMPORARY CLEARANCE FOR SUMMER SCHOOL. Only Prerequisite Challenges with completed
external coursework will be considered for Summer.

All final transcripts are due on the Priority Review Deadline Date (excluding summer terms)!
Late Review Deadline:
The Late Review Deadline is for the Prerequisite Challenges submitted after the Priority Review Deadline and no later than the Last Day to Add (for semester length classes).
- Students are blocked from enrolling in their desired course(s) requiring prerequisites until completion of the Prerequisite Challenge evaluation.
- Late challenges will be evaluated and processed or responded to within 10 business days, subject to instructional department availability.
- The late review deadline does not apply to late start classes, view individual course information for the last day to add
- Exceptions may be made for performance classes for which a prerequisite can be satisfied by an audition ( e.g. music, drama, intercollegiate sports)
Facts about Deadlines:
- Prerequisite clearance is NOT IMMEDIATE. Students are not permitted to enroll in courses requiring prerequisites or corequisites until their challenge has been approved or temporarily approved
- The Deadline for Prerequisites Challenges varies every term and is the students' responsibility to track the deadline dates and submit the Prerequisite Challenge form accordingly
- An approved petition does not guarantee space in any course
- An add code and/or permission from the instructor or department chair does not excuse you from meeting the deadline or the Prerequisite Challenge criteria
- ALL Challenges received after Late Review Deadline will be denied and processed for next term
