Whether your student's goal is to begin a bachelor's degree and transfer and/or gain a career technical education, Santa Barbara City College offers an extensive array of associate degrees and certificate programs. Our average class size is small, which makes for a favorable instructor to student ratio.
SBCC faculty understand that the diversity of our student population translates into a wide range of learning styles and educational needs. Faculty members use various delivery modes and teaching methodologies and constantly assess student learning. It is just such dedication to student success that has resulted in an award-winning faculty, with numerous program awards as well.

Tips for Parents
The collegiate experience is a valuable opportunity for personal growth. Support your student’s success in college by promoting not only academic exploration, but also by reminding them that this is their own unique experience. College builds decision-making skills that require students to accept responsibility for their choices and have accountability for their actions. You can support their independence by encouraging them to take advantage of the many resources available to them.
