Emergency Power Planning Checklist for Electronic Medical Devices

Power outages are part of the recently developed Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) plan to shut off power when hot, dry, and windy weather could start a wildfire.  A PSPS outage will last as long as dangerous weather conditions exist, plus the amount of time it takes for power company workers to inspect and repair the equipment in the affected area(s). 

The SBCC Emergency Services team is working closely with Southern California Edison and the County of Santa Barbara to keep you informed. We will update you on any status changes.  

To help the community prepare, the County of Santa Barbara has put together information on what a PSPS could mean for you personally and what you can do to prepare. Please review the information here: Santa Barbara County: Preparing for a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS).

It is also recommended you register for community emergency alerts from Santa Barbara County at ReadySBC.org.
